A fire engine and the platform of the aerial ladder were extensively damaged in the collapse.The rains, which started in the wee hours, continued intermittently throughout the day, due to which areas such as Hindmata, Sion, Chunabhatti and King’s Circle got flooded.As the railway tracks were submerged between Matunga and Kurla, train movement was also affected, causing delays on the central and harbour lines. At some of the places, seizure action was also taken and the licence has been temporarily suspended,” said a senior civic official."In Bandra, demolitions were undertaken in Bonobo restaurant and KFC Mall at Linking Road, during which unauthorised toilet blocks, kitchen extensions, terrace shed, among others admeasuring about 700 sq ft were demolished,” said Vijay Kamble, assistant commissioner, H/West ward.
